Turtles
by me, Canoe Communications
Turtles swimming in a brook,
Please come closer for a look.
Your reptile colors of olive green, brown and black,
And marked shells protecting against attack.
You bask upon a rock or sunken tree,
To have the sun warm your cold bodies.
Boxy turtles paddling by the shore,
Move over here once more.
Turtles float in the water my way,
I like to watch you swim, sway.
I could gaze at you for a while,
Gentle creatures that make me smile.

Beautiful markings – I wonder what it would be like to be a turtle. I like the idea of being able to pull into my shell.
ha ha, wonderful thought, especially on wet, dreary days
