For the Poetry Challenge Week #5, a poem about lifelong friends and a soccer game.

A Soccer Game

 by Canoe Communications Blog

Three friends in a field play a game,

They kick and pass a soccer ball.

Every Saturday at noon it’s always the same,

They’re there in the Spring, Summer and Fall.

Three buddies in a field there for a game.

The years are passing by,

It’s not quite the same.

With children, commitments it’s harder—but they try.

Three long-time friends in a field meet for a game.

They’re gray-haired and older,

                                                      And a little weaker, colder.

But it’s still the same.
