Wetlands are where land meets water.
Water is life in bogs, marshes, prairie potholes, swamps and wetlands. The soggy soil, lowland is populated with fish below the surface, plants and birds above.
This wet world is many shades of green grasses, sedges, and rushes. It’s bright yellow-green of algae blooms floating on top of blue water. There is an intricate balance with water to support the wetlands. I took the photos at a Midwestern freshwater wetlands in Illinois.
Wetlands and marshes are designed by nature to attract birds and waterfowl; are a perfect place for birdwatching. I’ve seen ducks, geese, snowy egrets and all kinds of smaller birds at the wetlands.
I like the photos. Exploring the outdoors is always a great thing to do.
It’s wonderful to explore nature. It’s always changing.
