Saturday in the parks soaking up the scenery and enjoying the outdoors.

I was at Lake Herrick, in Illinois, a 22-acre lake stocked with largemouth bass, channel and flathead catfish, sunfish and crappie fish.  A lush green park with facilities for boating, picnicking, barbecuing and grilling.  It’s a popular spot for fishing and wedding photography.

I moved on to the a park along the Fox River, a 202-mile, in Illinois that is stocked with muskie, flathead catfish and walleye fish.

People fished on the shores as a family canoes and kayaks in the river.

There were trails by the Fox River and around Herrick Lake for a bike ride or a stroll.
