Take a break to travel a photo tour along the Fox River, 202 miles long, and listen to a song about the river performed by a local band from the Fox River Valley.

 Fox River

A nice river to canoe on, fish in or watch waterfowl at, but there are man-made dams and spillways on the river.  If you are canoeing and you don’t want to drop off, you have to stop pull out and portage past them before putting into the water again. I  include pictures of scenic sites on the river, towns and attractions; but not all of them.  The towns are known for local arts and antiques and loaded with historic architecture.

You may want to discover some of those on your own taking a train to a town; biking or hiking the Fox River Trail or driving on old Route 31 and Route 71 that run alongside the river.  The Fox River Bike Trail is around 40 miles long.
