Summer Creek

The water is high in the creek after thunderstorms and rains, and current runs fast. I carefully walk a path by it because parts by the edge of the path are flooded. It can be easy to mistake a dark green carpet of wet leave and mud for something safe to walk on.

There is a majesty to the movement of the rushing waters over rocks, sunken trees and other debris. There are a lot of people on path like me drawn to the creek and forest to enjoy the last weeks of summer outdoors. The plentiful rain has turned the forest into a lush green oasis of wild.
