Winter Firs

winter firs

winter fir trees sprinkled with snow

The firs  are laced with snow on top above the silver green branches.  I love the scent of pine in the winter, and all year long.  The thick fir trees with branches to the ground are a secret home in the woods during winter and heavy rains.

Birds seek shelter in the branches and rabbits and other animals find warmth by the trunk of the tree.    There may be frigid cold, blustering winds and heavy snowfall outside, but inside the hidden environment of the fir tree in between the branches and below them; there is peace and protection from the elements and other predators.

They are ever green and always home to others.
