I took this picture standing on the solid ground and looking out at wetlands marsh in winter. It looks like a frozen prairie landscape, but it’s misleading and can be dangerous. It’s a wetlands marsh here in the Midwest with spongy soil and water below layers of snow.
I look out at the wetlands in the blustery wind and light snowfall, and I imagine green grass and reeds, song birds in full chorus and toads croaking in the spring and summer months.
I imagine a landscape colored in blues, greens and yellows; not the stark white, gray and brown of winter.
I imagine it as it looks in warmer weather in this photo.
Hurry Spring.

It always encourages me to know I’m not the only crazy person out there in this harsh winter. Hard to imagine those two images are of the same place.
