The rabbit stares at me with its eyes wide open and I smile in silence. It tentatively continues to chew a leaf, ready to hop away if I advance.
I keep my voice low as I tell it not worry and to enjoy its meal. Greens are good to eat, and summer greens are the sweetest kind. I step back and off in another direction, and let the rabbit enjoy its meal.
Maybe, I’ll have a salad for dinner tonight.
