No rain today. The sun breaks through clouds as a golden slant shining on water on a mid-September day. Gold shiny spikes of light on blue-green water.
I was so caught up in the play of light on water’s surface that I failed to notice the play beneath the surface. I saw fragments of twigs and branches floating on water. There was plant debris and a metal bar, that I could imagine for a moment was from a shipwreck.
Then I saw all the fish swimming in and around the debris. They like to swim in spots like this by the bank. It’s perfect for them, and a trial for an angler trying to cast a line.
In and out, and round about they swim. It’s relaxing to watch them.
