Walking along the trail I dodged holes, some small and some larger, and wondered by burrowing animal made them. Well I didn’t have to wonder too long. Soon I came upon the stubby legged, bushy-tailed, multi-striped chipmunk that was one of perhaps many hole diggers in the forest.
Yes, it’s cute and fun to watch. But I have to watch for its excavations as I hike the trail so I don’t trip. One of the details of walking in the woods and seeing wildlife, is interacting with them. It’s fun and sometimes not so fun if you trip.
