Summer Shade

I feel like summer heat with temperatures in the 90’s, it’s roasting outside. Although it is summer, so I expect it. It makes pools, fountains and lakes seem so much more inviting.

As I walk along a park path without a pool or pond insight in on this afternoon with day beginning to decline, I see a goose sleeping in the shade of an old oak tree.

The leafy shelter offers a canopy from the sun and bark backrest. So I stop for a while to watch the deepening shades of sunbeams spread across the grassy park. I enjoy the shade of the old oak tree, just the goose and me.
