Sometimes I meander meadows or trails through woods. And, sometimes I walk a path through a prairie by creeks and ponds. I took this photograph with wildflowers in a prairie that surrounds a creek. It seemed I had the whole place to myself, except for the songbirds and waterfowl that broke the quiet solitude.
I walked the path early in morning when it was still cool and a dewy blanket covered the flowers and tall grass. It was lovely to look up at the sky and the sun climbing. It was pleasant to avoid the humidity, and enjoy the songbirds.
There is something to be said for being an early riser. Early bird gets the worm, and the morning walker hears its song.
